National Primary Care Week ran October 5 to 10, 2026. It's a good moment to recognize the physicians, nurse practitioners, PAs and care teams who show up every day as the front door of our healthcare system.
What strong primary care makes possible
Prevention. Catching problems before they become crises.
Relationships. The trust that only comes from knowing patients over time.
Coordination. One team guiding the patient through a complex system.
The foundation of value-based care
In value-based care, primary care is the foundation. When primary care physicians have the right support, patients do better, costs come down and practices stay strong.
To every primary care clinician and team member: thank you. The work you do quietly carries the whole system.
